Wyre & Fylde Children, Young People & Families Forum: Awareness Events
The Children, Young People and Families Forum is made up of third sector groups across Wyre and Fylde who work together to share information, news and issues, whilst addressing priorities of the two districts.
Linked closely to the CYP Trust Board in each district, the Forum provides a strong partnership that is able to enage with local groups and represent the sector in consultations and engagement activities. Made up of 36 member groups, the forum provides a voice for the local community and acts as a source of expertise and knowledge.
To ensure that statutory organisations and lead professionals are aware of the provision locally available to help support families, the Forum facilitated two awareness events. The first event was a 'Mini Volunteer Fair' where six local groups were invited to talk to attendees to inform them of what the work of their group entails. The second event then developed into the CYPF Forum Awareness Event, inviting ten, very different, member groups to take part in 'speed dating' themed activities to provide information to attendees. The events were well attended and received positive feedback, developing new working partnerships and raised the awareness of local groups.
The Forum has developed a booklet sharing information and details about its member groups. This has been well received in the Fylde and Wyre, as a source of reference for all groups and organisations working with Children, Young People and Families.
Knowledge of the work and services of local community groups has been increased through the events and development of the information booklet. New working partnerships have been developed and stronger links established between the CYP Trust Boards and groups in the third sector.
