Infant Mortality Prevention - Working in Partnership Best Practice Day

Infant Mortality Prevention - Working in Partnership Best Practice Day

The number of babies who die before their first birthday in East Lancashire is higher than the national average and we, along with many of you and your colleagues have been working hard to reduce the rates of infant mortality we experience.

Part of this work has been the Infant Mortality Prevention element of the Smyl (Save a million years of life) programme and this includes the development of an East Lancashire Infant Mortality Prevention Strategy and some excellent partnership work which is going on across East Lancs.

We would like you to attend a best practice event on Friday 22 October 2010 at Clayton Park Conference Centre.  This is a full day event to learn more about the strategy and to give it your support and in addition share with colleagues your good practice and learn from others about how they are tackling Infant Mortality.

This event is for every body so if you are a Councillor or work or volunteer for

         The borough or county council

         The police

         Fire and Rescue Service

         Housing provider

         Children┐s Centre

         School or college

Local Strategic Partnership and/or sub group

         Voluntary organisation

         Community group

         Faith group

Then you are welcome to attend

Places will be limited so please express your interest in attending as early as possible.

A detailed programme for the day and copy of the Strategy will be available prior to the event which will include presentations and workshops.

If you would like to attend then please email with the attached booking form.

If you would like to have your work included as an example of good practice and or take part in a workshop session please contact or telephone 01282 857 307 / 07545 421 792

We look forward to seeing you on the 22 October 2010.
