Celebrate YOUth! 2014

Lancashire residents are paying tribute to young people by nominating them for the Celebrate YOUth! awards 2014.

The awards aim to highlight and celebrate young people's achievements in a wide range of areas such as volunteering, community engagement, artistic and sporting achievements.  Any young people aged 13-19 years (up to 25 years for those with disabilities), can be nominated as individuals, or as a group in the following six award categories:

  • Community Engagement
  • Beyond Barriers
  • Inspiring Volunteering or Advocacy
  • Sporting Achievement
  • Artistic Achievement
  • Improving Lives

Awards will be presented to successful nominees at an awards ceremony, hosted by Lancashire Young People's Service, on Tuesday 18 February 2014, at Park Hall, Charnock Richard, Chorley.

An additional 'pinnacle award' will be given to the 'most inspirational role model wot other young people', as voted for by the audience of young people, VIPs and dignitaries in attendance and by young people online, via the Young People's Service Facebook page.

The event will also feature and showcase the talents of a wide range of young people who will perform theor talents in music, singing, dance and presentation.  If you know of any young people who would like to get involved by presenting, or performing at the ceremony, direct them to the link at the bottom of this page.

Young people themselves will deliver Celebrate YOUth! by forming teams who mange and run the event including front of house, backstage, technical teams as well as an interview team who conduct all the back stage interviews/media.
