Working With Parents in Lancashire - Consultation

Providing effective support and guidance to parents is key to how we will ensure improved outcomes for children and young people in Lancashire.

By building the right mix of skills, knowledge and confidence we will work alongside families in a way that strengthens their resilience and resourcefulness and supports the delivery of priorities in the Children and Young People's Plan. Our approach will underpin a different way of working that is being driven through the Lancashire Improving Futures Programme.

In September 2012 the Lancashire Children and Young People's Trust held a conference that focussed on how we best support parents and carers, recognising the role they play and how services can be more effective in working with them. This event has now informed the development of 'Working with Parents in Lancashire', a framework that articulates the principles, values and priorities for how we work with parents.

A copy of the framework and consultation letter are available to view or download below.

It is important that the wider children's workforce has the opportunity to comment on this draft framework because how we work with parents is important. Consultation questions are available online, through the link below, or you can send your comments directly to the workforce team.
