This website is currently under review and information may not be accurate. We are refreshing the overarching partnership priorities for children and young people in Lancashire and expect these to be published, supported by new governance arrangements, in autumn 2018.

The summer holidays are here and to help you make the most of it we've put together some fun-filled guides packed full of things to do in your local area.  Organisations across Lancashire are putting on an exciting programme of events and activities for all age groups and families.

Find your local District Council from the list below and get your summer holidays sorted:

Download a copy of your local guide from the links above, or when you're out and about in Lancashire, you can pick up a copy of guides in public buildings such as your local library.

Top Tips

We've put together some top tips to help you keep everyone smiling this summer:

  • Do your research - activities will be run by a variety of groups and organisations.  Make sure you know who is responsible for the activity being run safely.
  • Before you go check if you will be expected to stay and if not how many adults will be supervising the activity.
  • If the activity involves leaving your child, make sure that staff and volunteers have been Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked, that there are guidelines in place for how they will deal with discipline, and that first aiders will be available should an incident occur.
  • Finally, and most importantly, have fun!  School holidays may be testing but they are also a fantastic opportunity to spend some quality time with your children.

Lancashire's Children's Partnership Boards have complied the guides from various sources.  We cannot be responsible for any of the content from providers in these guides, nor for the delivery or safety of any of the events or activities advertised unless it is managed directly by the Trust.  Events may be subject to change or cancellation at short notice.  We recommend contacting the individual venue before setting out on a long journey.
